The I-5 in Washington state is the main north-south
transportation route/corridor through Washington state for both people
and cargo.
The i-5 in Washington travels in generally a north-south
direction across the state... the i-5 conveniently
connects to most of the the larger cities in
Washington state, like;
Seattle,
Tacoma,
Vancouver,
and
Everett...
as well as, a number of other smaller cities & communities, like;
Bellingham,
Chehalis,
Centralia,
Federal Way,
Marysville,
Mt. Vernon,
Olympia,
Shoreline,
which ultimately provides convenient & efficient
transportation between a large number of cities and communities
located along the i-5 corridor in Washington.
Traveling north on the i-5 through Washington state, you'll
eventually reach the US/Canada border crossing... after crossing
the Can/US border, the i-5 becomes the
Highway 99 in Canada... the Highway 99 travels
north/northwest from the Can/US border into
Vancouver BC...
Vancouver BC is located approx. a 1 hour drive north/northwest of the
US/Canada border.
Traveling south on the i-5 through Washington, you'll eventually reach the
Washington/Oregon border, where the cities of
Vancouver WA and
Portland
OR sit across from each other, separated by the
Columbia River... where the Columbia River forms the border
between Washington
and Oregon
states.
In the Seattle area,
i-5 is
intersected by Interstate 90... the i-90 is a "trans-continental"
interstate highway
that travels east through Washington state,
which then continues to travel generally in an eastward direction all the way across the USA to
Boston,
MA. In the Vancouver Washington area, the i-5 is intersected by the 205 Highway...
the 205 connects to the south-east
traveling Interstate 84 in northern
Oregon,
which eventually connects to Interstate 15 in the Utah/Idaho
area.
The length of the
i-5 in Washington state is approximately 278 miles long, with an estimated driving
time of approx. 4 hrs. & 30 minutes.
